No I am not close to my 30's yet!!

Once again my birthday is here and so far Ben gave me one very big long fit this morning before school over what his breakfast options were. In the end he DID come out with chocolate syrup drizzled over his waffles so I'm not sure why we went through all we did. But he is safely out the door.
I decided for my birthday that I am going to ask all my friends to write a nice/funny/good memory that we have had together. Ever. Now normally I would possibly laugh if someone did this but I still think it would be fun and I would probably be reminded of funny things. Try to keep them somewhat nice..........well do whatever you want but still just do it. If no one writes anything I will remove this post and pretend I never wrote it and you will all forget it also. I recieved a nice message from my brother in China and realized this is what is fun about birthdays. Hearing from people you don't normally hear from. Even though I talk to him a couple times a week at least. Okay I'm off to workout and hopefully have a fun day out.

Happy Happy Birthday!

Since I just returned from volunteering I have to admit teh first thing that comes to my mind is all the times we have talked about and laughed about all the crazy things are kids do at school. Especially our kindergarteners. You are a GREAT mom and have great kids who crack me up (I LOVE that!). Oh and you are Wonderful too! ;P

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Julia!

I remember your smiles and how nice you always were to all of my kids and to our family.

My happiest memories are the times I was blessed to be in the temple with you and Dusty and your extended families. I love the Gomez and Liljenquist families! I am so happy to know that somewhere along our family lines, we're all related!

I love your family! I hope you have a beautiful birthday - and, speaking from experience - the years just get better! I promise.

With Love,

Rebecca

Even though we haven't been long-time friends, or even acquaintances--and I'm not super sure what you're actual real name is--I'm still posting a recent memory--recent is okay right? That would be last week and last night playing basketball. You're a great player--consistent, aggressive, smooth. I don't know why you'd have goal #3 for 2009--you've got a great layup.
I don't know why EVERYONE wouldn't name their daughter after you.
Happy Birthday!

Julia,
Happy Birthday! Well, I have TONS of memories with you, where do I start. Sleepovers, "Niko", being afraid of your dad because of his constant teasing, PV Mall, "Lily-Jones Co", trying to get our oldest boys to realize they are best friends when they are 1, our attempts at card making, decorating your house (with your money!), train park, birthday parties, hours long phone calls, moving, Streets of New York, organizing, books, Ikea, painting, Malina house parties, shopping, laughing, crying(mostly laughing!), lunches, kool aid, I just thought of something gross that we both had a bad experience with and it made me laugh out loud....it starts with a J and is about 5 feet tall!, crazy 2nd children, pregnancies, the ring(it was wrong for me!), Greenway ward, crashing into your van,,, How do you choose one memory from 15 years. Do you realize we have been friends for over half of our lives? Crazy. (We are getting old!) With all of these memories comes an array of emotions but most importantly they are cherished memories. You are an extraordinary person with amazing talents and gifts. It was not coincidence that our parents moved us to the "east side". I know we were meant to be friends. I know you are not into the sappy stuff but you should know that I love you! Happy Birthday!

Julia, Julia, Julia, were to begin..........................well, of course there's the first time we met working at the Candy Shop. Oh man, what was you're stage name, oh ya, Bambi. You had quite the moves back then. That's where we met our future hubbys. They were awesome tippers. Oh, and remember how we used to hang out at night at the local Circle K, just drinking slurpees and waiting for mister right to hopefully show up. We would just get sloshed on slurpees and laugh and laugh about pretty much nothing all night. Not much has changed there. I'm so glad we went to those self help classes and decided to change our lives into what they are today. You, mother/photographer/preschool teacher/poop and pee pee cleaner for the neighborhood children/basketball professional/CEO of many prestigious clubs/wife/scout leader/tutu tying specialist/and most importantly, my BFF! Whew, you're awesome! Seriously, you are such a great friend! I always have so much fun with you. I love tapping your nose and getting in your bubble of space. You are always serving others and I love the excitement of waiting to find out what your next big club idea will be! Thanks for all the laughs! You're the best! Happy Birthday!!!

Julia I hope you are having an amazing birthday! Of course you aren't close to 30 because you are the exact same age as me so we are the perfect age...unlike others we know (Tara and Katie for example)! :) You are amazing with a camera and I am so grateful to you for sharing your gift with me and my family. My girls love you! Happy birthday Julia!!

Hey Julia,
Happy Birthday. OK, do you remember our trip to Utah when we drove for an hour to find an old fashioned drive in to eat some awesome food and it was $75.oo! Man, that was some good icecream! The mystery dinner with you and Chelsea was fun too! You are a fun sis in law and I wish we lived closer. Maybe you'd let me join one of your clubs!
Hope you have a great day!

Happy birthday girl! I remember calling you in a frantic looking for a black shirt or dress for Makenna 2 years ago when she was 9 months old. Somehow, I knew that being the mom who dresses her daughter the BEST(that would be you) would have what I needed. Thanks! My Christmas pictures that year turned out great because of you.

Have a great day and thanks for being so willing to help me in my time of need. YOU ARE THE GREATEST!

Julia-
Remember the time Emma was at my house and she bro... okay, did you say to write something funny? I think what I was going to write is funny, but if I remember correctly you didn't think it was funny... so I'll think of something else. Remember all the times you've been good to my family? You've taken our pictures (and dang good ones!); you've been available to help, even when it wasn't convenient; you started the walking club and even included 'old ladies'. I would say one of the things I love the most about you is your great sense of humor, you are one of the funniest and most fun people I know! Hope your birthday is great. (I had my last baby at your age...one of the best years of my life!)

Oh Julia! Happy Birthday and wow you are oh so old. All these people are talking about all the fun times they have had with you, but all I can think about is how many times I cried because you teased me about my name. And look what you went and did...named your daughter after me. What a coincidence. Turns out after so many years that you were always just jealous of my name. No really, I have so many great memories with you and your family. I hope that you have a great birthday! Also if you want to see my way cool/way popular blog send me your e-mail address to emmalynnevans@gmail.com. And you better do it!!!

Hey, Happy Birthday Julia!

Ok, I do have quite a few memories, some are quite vague though, and so the details are fuzzy. I have fond memories of the sleepovers we used to have. Funny memories were the prank wars we had at girls camp, and one particular sleepover memory was when you would freak out when anyone touched your sleep set up, and the time we tricked you into getting out of your sleeping bag, only so Lindy could get in and induce a suedo fart. Ok, so I guess that one was more funny for the rest of us than you. Happy Birthday anyway!

Happy Birthday!!!

I do not recall any moments that I have been around you that weren't happy/nice or funny! Your quick whit and amazing sense of humor always make each moment memorable...I only wish I would have grown up in your home, with you and your wonderful family. Never a dull moment, I am sure of that!

I hope you had the best day ever today...you deserve it!

are you for real? asking for people to tell you how awesome you are? Sounds like something someone else we know would blog about, but not you! I would say my favorite memory was flinging pumpkin in your face and then wiping it all over your freshly washed car. Or the time at girls camp when I interrogated you only to get one word, lie answers. And then of course there are all the times you make fun of me or try and get me to cuss during basketball or in the Relief Society room. For real, I think I love laughing at other people's blogs with you.

Remember that one time when you tried to give me a priesthood blessing?? Or how about when you MADE me clean your children's toy room? Those are some of my favorite memories with you Lil!!! In all seriousness, my favorite memory was last night at basketball when I hugged you and even though you were emotionless during the hug, I knew at that very moment that we would be friends forever...Happy Birthday buddy!!! :)

*JULIA* said...

Just to clear my clean record the above two entries both have lies in them. Ash, you know I did not do that. That was the overly medicated assistant camp director. Bree did you just dream about that whole pumpkin thing or what?? That little interrogation at camp is what made me think you were creepy and would I really laugh at people??? Also the thought of me asking people to write great things about me makes me laugh as well. It is kind of fun though and I've gotten responses from totally unexpected people.

Love your super serious birhtday look. Many funny times with you and I thank you for them. Especially loved it when we would try to figure out why our boys would do the things they do. I do love you sense of humor and the way you always look at the positive side of things. Have a great day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! This is just what comes to mind as one of my first memories of you (I know you didnt say "first memory" but that is what I am chosing to do, ok???).....we were swimming at the Winters and you would show up with a huge glass pitcher thing filled with lemonade or some kind of homemade drink in it and I just thought to myself, this girl really needs to simplify...what is wrong with capri suns????

You are the best and I'm not sure why Tara keeps saying you are her BFF! :)

Happy Birthday Julia!!!!! So I was trying to think of one memory that stood out to me... and actually what I thought of was first getting to REALLY know you... going over to your house last summer and cutting the cardboard for girls camp... you getting your husband to cut the cardboard while we left and went walking instead... hahahaha!!! Smooth Julia!! I can't wait for girls camp this year... :) I love that you can tease people and sometimes they don't pick up on your sense of humor!! I LOVE IT!!!! We are truly meant to be friends!!!!

Love the pic...my funniest memories of you are every time I have gotten you to watch my kids so they can pee/poop at your house or throw up in your car, or when you cleaned my ENTIRE house, or when I had you throw a party that I totally took credit for, or getting you to stay up until 2 in the morning tying tutus which we would later repay you by having you make us lunch (oh wait, you really need to get on that). I am still laughing about all of these...I am such a fabulous friend. Obviously Tara and Julianne have nothing on this BFF : ) But really, My favorite memories were when you would come over and hold my crying Dax so I could unload groceries, or sweep the floors, or just sit. Something I don't think I could ever repay you for. Happy Birthday Julia...and don't worry it isn't over yet: )

When I first met you, you scared me. Sometimes you still scare me. Still, I am glad that you are my sister-in-law.

Happy birthday! thanks for the invitation to give our memories. I can remember roller blading like it was yesterday! Also, listening to oldies and dancing around the house with Mary Ann too and laughing so hard my stomach hurt. I was always so impressed that you were so good at the sports that the boys actually wanted you to play and didn't cry when you were on their team! You are an awesome person with the cutest kids! I hope you have a great year ahead! We really should get some of the old clan together at a park or something sometime soon so our kids can all play and we can all laugh!

Happy Birthday Jules! I have lots of memories but the first one that came to mind that made me laugh was at one of the sleepovers we used to have with all the girls! You were wearing overalls and had your shirt tucked into your underwear. I don't know why I remember that but I remember we all thought it was hilarious and gave you a hard time! Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Ok sorry that it has taken me for FOREVER. And happy birthday by the way. Lets see, there are so many memories. I have to agree with Mauri. BC forever, yes! Prom was a fun time. So was San Diego. Also our ski trip when we told my cousins we shared boyfriends. And when my grandpa used your hair brush. Remember when we all sang in sacrement meeting and we put out army tags on the pulpit. Going to the lake was always fun. It really seems like we were always doing something fun. Thanks for all the fun memories.Oh, and the sleepovers were always fun especially when Lindy go in your bed. I think I could make a huge list of all the things we did and all the people that LOVED us. I'll save that for another time.

Happy birthday! I remember you as a little girl in Jr high. Then you grew up and were in high school. Now you are an amazing woman, wife, mother and friend. A few things I love about you are your honestly, simplicity, humor, and style! Enjoy this next year being you!

happy birthday! I first met you when you were a young sassy Sophmore at Horizon. I recall Friday nights at PV mall, going to GAP and being "mall rats", McDonalds Play Place with Krystal and neice, E.F.Y. NAU...those are just a few highlights...

I know that when I first met you I loved you because we'd be in a big group of friends all chatting and I learned quickly that if I stood next to you, I'd get to hear sarcastic/funny comments being muttered under your breath about each person...it was a fast way for the new girl to get to know who everyone was, from Julia's point of view...you always seemed to have people pinned down pretty well, and still do. HEART U.
