Date night

Is it bad that I wanted to take my 7 year old to the game instead of my husband??

Friday afternoon my mom called saying that my grandpa had 2 tickets for the Suns game that I could have
but they have to be picked up within the hour
at his store
that is 40 minutes away
and it's traffic hour.

My first thought is I'm definitely taking Hunter.
I call my hubby and tell him about the tickets and he says "oh that sounds really fun, I've been wanting to go on a date".
So i have to gently break it to him that there is really not enough time for him to get home in time to go and that maybe he could have a fun night with the two younger ones.
Being the seriously nice husband he is was fine with that and went and picked up the kids from our friends house and took them out for dinner and stayed home with them while I went out on a date with someone else.

It's really just that Hunter and I both love watching the games together and Hunter prefers his Dad to me the majority of the time so this is our thing . We were on the fifth row and loved every minute. The only scary part of the night was walking back to the car . I refused to pay the $20.00 parking that was everywhere and opted to just walk a couple extra blocks for free parking. After staying to shoot free throws we were walking back to our ghetto parking space alone and noticed four guys sitting on the wall right next to our car looking a little scary. I"m sure they were nice harmless guys but when it's just me and my 7 year old it made me a little nervous. Basically we both ran the last block and jumped in through the drivers side and got out of that neighborhood. It was at that point that I really missed having an older bigger date.

It used to be that I would look forward to weekends to relax during hectic weeks but lately weekend just leave me looking forward to getting back to my schedule. Not that our weekend was not fun it was just busy with fun things. Hunter did get 3rd this wrestling tournament and came home and took a 3 hour nap. He was so tired from staying out late at the game and had to get up early for the tournament and he cried about ten times in between matches. Only once saying he was done wrestling forever. I love overly tired kids!

You are so halarious. I love that you took Hunter. I don't know if I would have been as kind. I think that is a lot of fun. I also remember when we got lost down town for like an hour how scary that was.

Next, I love the sponge brownies. You are awesome. I want to do that next year.

Oh how fun! That's so cool that you both have that in common. I guess I better start watching sports in case I have a little boy.
