Just some Pics

These were the only pics i got from the trunk or treat Saturday night and since I'm not sure the boys will dye there hair black again for Halloween i thought i would post some pics of my black haired boys. It makes there skin look even pastier white than normal. Hard to believe i know but the red suits there skin color much better. Ben actually looked pretty cute with wild black hair and Hunter insisted on the eyebrows being done as well.

Emma was striped cat and she was loving looking at herself in the mirror after i drew on her nose and whiskers. She just stared shocked at herself and then just smiled and did this really lame MEEOWW in a normal voice. Her other pic is her just looking cute for church.

Our little climber

Since Emma hasn't made an appearance for at least a couple of posts I had to put something on for her.
I've been waiting to see how she gets out all the time and I finally caught her. She had several close calls but was more determined to get out and go play and not wait for me to get her out.
I just love this pic although it is not as sharp as I would like but only a new camera will fix that.

One birthday party down and one more tomorrow. That is how we like to do it around here. Ben's party turned out to be really fun for everyone and I am glad it's over till next year. An hour and a half at pump it up was perfect for these boys and then off to the restaurant of Ben's choice WENDY"S. All in all everyone was tired out and full and happy with their bag of toys when they left which made for a successful party. Those are eyeball cupcakes that Emma is adding a little salt to.

My baby boy is 5!

Yup i have a 5 and 6 year old this week!
I can't believe Ben is 5 and so far he loves it and the one difference he noticed was that he said his voice was deeper today. Ben is our special middle child and we have to work hard to keep him from getting that middle child syndrome with a older brother who seems to never get in trouble and a little sis who well she the little sister who can't really get in too much trouble yet and then there is Ben. He has that mischievous glint in his eyes and doesn't really mind the consequences of things. He is really funny and loves to think of shocking comebacks for his uncles and anyone who says funny things to him . I love his laugh and cannot help but laugh because he laughs so hard at things. He has never gone to bed without coming out at least 10 times(no exaggeration). He always gets the urge to brush his teeth again or my favorite floss his teeth that have gaps the size of a pencil between each of them. He loves his animals and always tucks them in and they take up most of his bed at night. He is such a nice big brother to Emma and they have really started to bond this year which i am glad since this is the last year we get to have him home with us all day. He also loves crafts and our floors are often covered with little pieces of paper that he has cut up to make something for me. This pirate ship craft was one that he got today at his party adn he immidietely came home and did it all by himself and was so proud. So this is it for now about Ben since it is late and he is still not in bed(he can't get in trouble on his birthday).

meaningless decorating???

So these are the latest projects that I have been working on in the house. It's so nice to have any change on the house and it's fun do do it yourself. So the kids bathroom was a quick and easy one revolving the colors around this shower curtain that i found at Marshalls. I LOVE IT!! Of course i had to throw a little pink in there since Emma does brush her teeth in there. My boys hate it but i don't really mind since they are not the ones that clean it they don't get to decorate it.
The boys room however did take a little longer to finish(actually it's still not all the way done but you can't tell from the pic). When i asked the boys what color I should paint there room here were the responses. Hunter- ummm all black with orange purple and white stripes..
Ben - light blue with purple and pink stripes and flames.
So naturally bright blue with navy stripes is what i went with. Are there really mom's out there who let their kids decide paint colors???
I am happy with the result and the boys like it now although when Ben first walked in when all the tape was still up he looked around and said "are you seriously painting it this color". And their letters are not going on the dresser but on the unfinished wall that will be revealed at a later time. For now it's nice to have a little color in their room and i know deep down they like it. (but it doesn't really matter anyway)

Blog games hmmmmm....... it's fun to read others

So here's my first and most likely last blogger game attempt. six things or habits about ME.

I really like to cook and make a great tasting meal just not everyday. I love to try new recipes and improve on my old ones. I get almost all of my meal ideas from my Dad and call him every time i am grilling or cooking a new cut of meat. I think someday i will be able to spend more time being creative in the kitchen but not this year.

I do love adventure but have definitely toned it down since my kids. Luckily bungee jumping, skydiving and scuba diving with sharks were all checked off the list prior to my babies. I love scary rides and look forward to be able to take my kids on the fun rides when they get tall enough. Lucky i have a freakishly tall child so it should be soon. Unfortunately I also think I passed this trait on to my daughter which is really scary for me. She has gotten bored of just playing on top of our table so she now moves chairs over to the counters and looks through cupboards and this morning i found her holding my REALLY sharp knife that has cut me by just pressing up to my finger yet when she grabbed it with her hand as I was coming towards her she did not get cut. There are angels over that kid every moment.

I love to Travel! I love the anticipation of a trip, the longer the better, working towards that goal and then getting to go see new sites, new restaurants, and possibly some good shopping. One of my fav trips was walking around downtown Boston by myself taking pic and shopping by myself. I love going with people but I love being able to be on my own time. I have been lucky to be married to a guy that knows i love to travel and has always encouraged me to take trips and get a small break from normal life. I love that about him!

I love Christmas music and start putting it on about mid October depending on the weather. The first cool day(meaning low 80's) and then I'm in the mood for Christmas. This is my fav. time of year!! Dusty of course tries to make the rule every year that we can't listen to Christmas music until the week prior to Christmas.

I need to have girls nights......once again my husband is always very nice about this one as well and has always done whatever he could to make it so I could go out. There is just something so nice about going shopping..out to dinner...working on some project with your friends or sisters without any kids interrupting or needing anything. It really makes me a better wife and mom after I have been able to get out not to mention it's fun to come home with the goods from our outings. Last night I went out with Dusty's 2 sis that I love doing things with and just shopped for a good four hours while the guys and grandma had the kids. A nice little break.

I don't like going to see movies.......unfortunately Dusty loves movies but to me there are so many other things i would rather do if we have a couple hours on a date. You don't get to talk in a movie and they are long and you just sit there. I would always rather go out for a date to dinner, window shopping, golfing, doing anything and THEN rent a movie and watch it in the comfort of our own home when the kids are in bed. This rarely happens but is almost always the plan.

No I didn't throw anything, okay maybe one or two beer bottles...

The garbage being thrown on the field was the most exciting part of the game so it's a good thing we were in good company. Hunter and I went with Chelsea and Bryson to the Dbacks game Thursday night although the boys loved being together at a playoffs game I am not so sure the fans sitting around them loved the nonstop talking and laughing and the kicking of thier chairs, waving the towels int he air inches from peoples faces(mostly mine). It was fun just to take the older boys and so nice that I have the nicest husband in the world that is always willing to babysit extra kids so i can have a fun night.

It is impossible to get these boys to look the slightest bit normal for a pic!!
