My favorite leprechan.......

~ still has no interest in riding a two wheeler

~ has found a love for reading

~ is his sisters favorite brother

~ has no interest in sports

~ can drive me crazy faster than my other two combined (especially at homework time)

~ has an amazing memory

~ thinks he has a great voice and sings while going to the bathroom or taking a bath

when he thinks no one is listening

~ goes through the garbage ALL the time to see if I've thrown away anything of his.

( he has a good chance of being on hoarders one day)

~ was the only one of the kids who will be returning to the dentist to get 2 cavities filled, even though he spent most of his visit telling the dentist how well he brushes his teeth every day.

~ has improved 100% from where he was a year ago about going to school, church classes, even grandparents houses, basically leaving me. It has been SUCH a big improvement

and we are both much happier.

Our first ER Visit

was pretty uneventful. Sunday afternoon Emma had come in crying from a cut she had gotten on her foot while riding on the back of Ben's bike that spins around. It was bleeding but nothing out of the ordinary so I told her that she needed to take a hot shower and I will look at when shes out. She forgot about it so I forgot about it. Come Tuesday, while helping her put on her sandal I noticed it was red around the cut and warm to the touch. I put some ointment on it and a band aid and we were off to do our errands. Later while reading up on the Internet about cuts getting infected, a mom had written that her daughter had a line that started to go up her leg toward her heart and that was a sign that a serious infection had set in or blood poisoning. I looked at Emma's foot and was glad to not see a line. She asked me several times Tuesday to take her to the doctor (which she NEVER does) and I of course ignored it saying we would see if it got better. 4:30 rolls around and i check look at it again and this time there is the pink line going up her foot. I called the doctor and they advised me just to head to the ER. Hunter was at wrestling and my night was already full so I waited till I could pick him up, grabbed a pizza for the boys dinner picked up Navi to help Ben finish his homework and hang out with them and took Emma. Well not before having her shower and put on her pjs and packing a backpack full of books and charging the ipod touch to keep her entertained(which came in very handy while they tried to put in her IV 3 times). Basically once they checked her out they told us she would need 24 hours of antibiotics through an IV and would be admitted to the hospital that night. The good thing about that night was that our boys were already planning on spending the night at friends houses and going to school with them because I was scheduled for outpatient surgery the next morning and was leaving at 5a.m. The bad thing about that was deciding how I could leave and feel comfortable leaving my baby(whose 5 tomorrow) in the hospital. Dustin wanted to take me and have one of our many volunteers come stay with Emma for the morning but I opted for him to stay with her. I drove myself to the hospital after sleeping for 20 minutes had the surgery and as soon as I woke up wanted to get out of there as quick as possible. My mom was there with whole wheat blueberry pancakes and drove me back to the hospital to be with Emma.

She was loving the hospital at this point with the playroom full of toys, paints, movies and games and loving the visitors that came with balloons, candy, books and flowers. The doctor came into the playroom and wanted to see how her foot was doing so he followed her back to her room while she skipped and jumped down the hall. He quickly realized she was more than fine and the medicine had worked quickly. We were discharged in the afternoon and she requested Jojo's as soon as we left the hospital. Thankfully Julianne picked up our boys from school, took them to scouts, and then fed them dinner while I napped and Emma was off to a bday party(she really was fine).

We have had medical insurance off and on for the 10 years we've had kids(mainly off) and have never had to visit the ER or have any surgeries aside from 3 c-sections. The fact that 5 months ago we were able to get great insurance through WF and that we had 2hospital visits in 1 day makes me so thankful that we have been watched over all these years. Besides me not sleeping the timing of it all worked out rather well with the boys being taken care of, Dustin having work off already and nothing planned for that day. It was also soo nice knowing I had 10 different offers to help out in any way (aside from bree) although in the end i decided to just dump it all on Julianne:)

In other news my baby girl turns 5 tomorrow. She will not be playing spin the bottle at her party. She was very specific on her request for hotdogs, Salad with chinese dressing, chips and guac and blue cupcakes for her party. Things are never dull with her around and I could not have asked for a funnier, sweet, strongwilled girl. She makes our lives entertaining and STILL has her brothers wrapped around her finger. Im always wondering how long that will last......im thinking not too much longer but hoping it doesn't end.

2 hours home from the hopital..........

Emma this morning ~ She comes in to talk to me while I'm getting ready and says "Mom I know what games I want to play for my Birthday Party! First I want to play a karate fighting game where there is 2 kids and we take turns fighting each other and I also want to play spin the bottle".

She thinks spin the bottle is where you take turns spinning the bottle and if it lands on you the you spin the bottle again so that one sounds safe.

Emma tonight ~ "Mom, every night Hunter says he loves me and i feel like its just blowing my head off. Its just annoying, like really annoying".

ive just seen a face

My girl and I are lucky enough to spent ALOT of time together. She follows me around talking and helping me in whatever I am doing and yes she is usually sitting right outside my shower talking to me the whole time as well. She has definitely gotten to the nonstop talking stage that Ive heard happens with girls and it definitely surprises me some days what she comes up with to talk about .

We were able to go visit and take pics of another adorable baby girl this week and during the 30 minute car ride i don't think she stopped for more than 30 secs. My friend from elementary school had her first girl last week and It was soo fun to go see and hold and tiny baby. I hate how you can't tell how tiny she is from the pics but she was less than a week old. I am always amazed at how little newborns are! I would have preferred to just hold her all day but we got busy and took some pics of her.

Building a garden, digging a weed..who could ask for more

will you still need me, will you still feed me,when Im sixty four.

While she not exactly 64 this year she getting closer.

Today is her Birthday and here are some things I love about my mom~

Everyone who knows my mom loves her. We are very similar this way...............

She is the greatest Grandma ever and I hope to be just like her in this way.

She is always soo happy to see my kids and makes a big deal when they come in the door.

She frequently asks for them to spend the night and frequently says yes when i ask.

The past 2 weekends I have been heading out of town and each time have had a kid get sick that day.

Each time I knew I could leave them with her just fine and truth be told they would probably be better taken care of.

They both quickly got better.

She makes the best whole grain pancake mix and shares bag fulls with all her kids.

She is very easy to talk to and we talk on the phone often.

She has cute puppies at her house so I don't have to own a dog for my kids.

She is a great example of attending the temple and does once a week and likes to call me while shes driving to or from.

She loves being outside hiking, gardening, walking and biking and looking for weird love birds

in her neighborhood so she can tell me about them.

I love that we are such good friends and hope she has a great birthday.

There are a lot more things I love about my mom but at almost midnight our 9 o'clock church is not sounding fun so I'm off to bed.

My kids ask all year long

When they can go back to the "sedona house", and I look forward to us going back all year long.

Hunter decided that every time he saw the camera he would do "action shots" for me.

Yep they all turned out this good and he thought he was hilarious as usual.

They loved having these nets up there and I will be sure to bring those again since they supplied hours of entertainment at the creek.

So I know Im backtracking big time but..........

when your house is spotless and you are caught up with everything in life, this is what you do.

The weekend after school started for my boys we headed to our favorite spot in Arizona. 3 days spent at Oak Creek was great as usual. The kids lived outside, bossed their cousins and grandparents around ( well only Emma did this) and begged to go on hikes. Despite the fact that they were really into catching snakes in the water or bushes I enjoyed the relaxing weekend with them.

What 4 year old girl is in love with wild snakes and has no fear in grabbing them out of the water?
